THE WAKEBOARD BASICS

Wakeboarding is a combination of all boardsports. You ride a board a little shorter-135cm than a snowboard and a little wider-40cm than a skateboard on the water, being towed by boat at around 18-24Mph.
You start off like you would with 2 skies, in a sitting position, both feet forward to the boat, knees to the chest, arms slightly bent and locked. Because of the size of the board, and the powerfull tow boats, only slow constant speed is needed to get riders up, many in their first few attempts.
When more experienced the idea is to cut into the wake and use it as a jump ramp, wakeboarders are shot up into the air to perform an endless number of manouvers.
Many obstacles such as kicker ramps and sliders / rails are being used as well to keep up the already high levels of progression.
