We’re out every weekend at Jindalee in our boat and it is absolute chaos 9 times out of 10 down there. It’s no wonder there hasn’t been more ramp rage throughout summer. Hope the work gets down soon before next summer

Hey Ben, Mike, Aaron, Angelo!!
This mail has been long overdue! So how have you guys been? Any new tricks? I haven’t been riding for about 3 months now. I busted my right knee in Jan, and have been going for physiotherapy. Luckily, I don’t need any surgery, just a really bad case of runner’s knee. In any case, just to be on the safe side of things, I’ve decided to get a knee brace for my right knee. Now I am the bionic man.
Things are quite mad over here in SG since I got back. Been busy with loads of stuff. Plus it doesn’t really help if my Pc keeps on dying on me. Chicks are getting more forward, tall(er), more daring and definitely prettier. The clubbing/partying scene is also getting a lot better. Drinks are getting cheaper and the clubbing hours are extended to 24 hours at some places. But unfortunately wakeboarding still remains as a daylight sport.
Started on my new job in February. Mondays through to Friday, 9 till 5pm everyday. Doesn’t give me much time to squeeze a wake session in. But that’s going to change. My good old wakeboard instructor is going to purchase another boat, and I’m going to be his part time driver on the weekends. I absolutely hate to ride on the weekends cos that when everyone is out on the water. So just imagine sharing a strech of the Brissy river with like 10-12 boats. For god’s sake, I’m even afraid to fall for fear some blind driver doesn’t see me (cos he’s too busy ogling at this female passengers in bikinis) hahaha.
Aside from not being able to wakeboarding, I’ve taken back my interest in track driving. The government here wants to vie for F1’s Last asian track. Shanghai being the 2nd last one. The project is underway to build it. And when that’s done, I’m going to get myself a track car and burn some rubber. Probally either a Silvia or a Honda integra type-r. Force induct it… okay, so I’m drooling now. Hahahah.
Mike, pirated/copy DVD’s here are like $5. Purchase more than $100 worth, they’ll deliver it to you. Heh heh. Food is still cheap and accommodation here is getting cheaper. Budget hotels are like SG$40/night/per room. And Sg girls are getting more daring with their bikini wear. Something to entice you to come to SG I hope. Hahah.
Ben, I think the size for my helmet is m/l that’s what’s printed on the inseam of the helmet. How’s the table kicker coming along? There’s a wake center here that’s going to build a huge 60ft slider. I don’t think I’ll ever hit it. I’ve already got 2 bad knees, don’t want to add anymore injuries to my list.
Aaron, I think you’ll love the clubbing scene here in SG. There’s a number of guys challenging dance moves at different clubs. It’s pretty interesting. Though I haven’t seen it myself, my friends who go clubbing said that they always see groups of guys challenging each other to dance battles. The mainstream club music here is house/trance, ambient, drum and bass. Then there are other clubs which play rock and some others 80’s. There’s this club here in SG that’s always on the lookout for aspiring Dj’s. This club is backed my Ministry of sound and every Thursday they allow such aspiring dj’s come and do a set. And If they think you’re good they offer you a contract or something like that. Have to check up on it. Haven’t heard of any rave parties here in SG, but a source tells me that there are, but mostly underground ones.
Well, apart from that, I should be going to Japan in the middle of this year to search for parts for my current car. Also need a short vacation from the mundane routine of work.
I should be visiting Australia in the later part of this year. Was planning around the October/November period. But that might change. Depending on how soon they build the race track. Cos my friends are thinking of opening up a garage here to modify cars. And if that takes off, I’ll be going to Japan for 2 years to be an apprentice to learn the art of tuning a car. So much for a masters education. Hahah. But what the hell, whatever that makes money.
Alright enough of blabbering, before this becomes a really boring e-mail. Hope to hear from you guys soon.
Cheers!!
Kenneth

looking at the site you seem to be one of the more active members in the brissie/coast area and was wondering if you can help with some info. I live on hamilton island and have been to brissie a couple of times but have always towed my boat down and parked up at summerset for a couple of weeks with the boys but at the end of feb im coming down for 5 days with no boat. I've been told there is 3 cable parks arround the brissie and coast area is any one better then the other for someone that has boarded a lot but never been on cable

Yeah the site doesn't focus on the School side so much as news and pics etc.
We run a "wakeboard training club" and we're out almost everyday, we all have jobs but they come 2nd or maybe 3rd in the queue.
It's the best location, Winter stays about 20-25degress and you know summer's hot.
Our goal isn't about making money because you can't really do that in wakeboarding, but more for meeting and taking out as many people as we can, giving them the chance to ride a pro setup.

comments: Hey man,
I was just checking out your website, You guy's have a pretty
sweet setup.. What is it you guy's actually do though? I couldn't
quite sus that one out. Also whatever it is, Is that what you guy's do
for a job or do you have other jobs up there?
Only reason I ask is i'm thinking of moving up that way to push my
boarding alot more, I can only get in the water 2-3 times a week in Melbourne, and over winter you have pretty much no chance of getting a crew together.. Anyway, If you could get back to me that would be sweet!
Thanks
P.

hey guys
was bumming around on the net today and happened to find WBDU, i am
originally from the port hacking, NSW, as a punk i used to look forward to
going for a board every arvo, home from school, with a couple of mates we'd
pull the customised haines signiture out, load her up with sandbags till
she ws ready to take on water, then wakeboard till 8.30 at night. I used to
live for it.
Recently i have moved to brisbane and lost that lifestyle, finding it hard
to get down the coast more than once a week, i am severley withdrawing from
lack of water contact, i have become so desperate to get back into it i
have considered the move back to the families home to fund the purchase of
my dream boat.
So to cut it short i am mad keen to get back into the sport again, when is
the next session,
would it be worth my while getting into cable to touch up on airiels.

Hey Nina,
We just got back from an awesome wake session, it is getting colder though (colder in Brisbane is 21c).
I'd advise to get a board no smaller than 132cm no larger than 138cm (135cm ideal) and to go for a single fin or triple fin setup, twin fin boards are a bit harder to ride than boards with center fins.
Great to hear of more chicks so keen on wakeboarding
Keep up the stoke, Ride Hard !

Hey guys,
How's the wake going? Thank you again for Sunday, it was absolutely awesome! I have been blabbing about it ever since I got back to Melbourne. I have also been in a world of pain. man does it ever work every muscle in your body! feeling very staunch though :)
I have had a look at your site, well dah, considering I am sending you this email from it. its pretty damn good! though I think you should have more close up pictures of you guys where you have the section "Meet the Crew". I reckon pictures of you lot in your board shorts, jackets and holding your boards would be pretty cool - or would you think that lame? the pictures you currently have there are somewhat obscure. but all in all the site rocks :) especially the training on the trampoline, the pictures are great!
Anyway guys I better get back to work. Have a blast boarding this weekend. Let me know how Pru goes this time round. I'm sure she'll be a pro :)
Catch ya,

Cool site
Good to see some locals taking the sport to the internet.
Been waking for about 8 weeks and keen to take advantage
of the wakeboard school. One reason is for tips but most of all to see
what a decent wake is like. I haven’t the money for a matrix, tige, mal so I’m stuck with what I got. But hey little spongy wake is better then no wake. Right?
Funny enough I have meet you guys before the little silver proton car
you have, I have sat on the bonnet a few times down at Jindalee to get traction when pulling the boat out of the water
Any way sick site honestly because of youse I’m buying the Mark Kenney video
What a guy hey!
Keep up the good work and hope to see you on the water soon

Alright, I think i spoke to Ben like a week ago, I just picked up wakeboarding about a month ago, and am loving every sec of it. I ride about once a week for about an hour. 4 x 15 min sets. I come from a snowboarding (carving and freestyle) background. curretly, i am trying to do a 2 wake jump on heelside, my toe side is fine, but i can't seem to find the timing to pop off the wake. So i'm looking forward to riding with you guys, and hopefully in a couple of months time i hope to do an air rally( i think you guys call it a backscratcher) anyways, as i've told ben, i want to ride every thursday, probally for an hour and the half. provided my arms haven't broken off yet.
I currently ride on a Parks 138 biolite. hope to hear from you guys soon. Kenneth. p/s currently i'm in singapore and i will not get back to brisbane till the 18th of feb. so feel free to call me when i'm back. my mobile no is 0413322226. cheers!! and keep riding!!

I hope you guy's might be able to help me? I've wakeboarding every weekend for about 2yrs, and I'm having trouble standing! The best I've done is about 10m. I'm not sure if the equipment using is good or not. I ride behind a malibu on my cwb vortex with 30/60 bindings. Should I use the wake tower or the ski pole? Should I put the four fat sacks in for my ride or keep them empty? Are jetpitol shorts alright or should i get some fox short? Do you guy's have any suggestions of what set i should get in this new seasons line, as i think my set-up be getting to old and shitty. I've seen some people starting off jetty's should I try that off my jetty. My dad said if i can stand up for more than 50m he'll buy me car so i tow the boat any time i want to go for wake??
